This is the 3 tier stand that I purchased from Stainless in Seattle. Go to
Homebrew Heaven to find
a similar stand (S. in S. is no longer in business).
I chose a 3 tier stand so that I wouldn't have to use a pump right away to sparge
the mash (tier 2) from the liquor tank (top tier). For a typical infusion system,
the 3 tier works great. 3 tier systems also take up less room for storage. I don't
have a basement or a three car garage so this was a big factor. Check out my

page for other manufacturers of brewing stands or sculptures.
This stand was purchased with burners on all three levels. I removed the middle
level burner and built two shelves. One for the mash tun and one for the pump.
This allowed me to mount the pump close to the mash tun. I also added a
waterproof on/off switch to control the pump.
I added expanded metal across the feet (for storing stuff) and wheels so
that I can move the stand about (without anything else on it). The wheels do not
touch the ground until the stand is tipped. Thus, they don't need to be strong
enough carry all of the water weight. This also makes the stand more secure when
loaded with both kegs and the mash tun.
